Det finns en organisation och en slags databas som förmedlar och gör det möjligt för människor att åka ut i världen och hjälpa till på ekologiska jordbruk. Organisation heter wwooof och databasen Helpexchange. Båda är globala. Du når information om dessa genom att klicka på orden.

Grundprincipen är enkel. Mot mat och husrum så hjälper man till med de sysslor som för stunden är aktuella. Jordbruken och länderna i världen skiljer sig väldigt mycket åt. För mig och många andra små ekologiska jordbruk har det ingenting att göra med att få tag på billig arbetskraft. Det är något helt annat. Jag vill förmedla den kunskap jag har om jordbrukande i sig, om djur och om växtodling och hur man kan bedriva ekologiskt jordbruk. Jag vill förmedla de allmänna kunskaper jag besitter och förmedla kunskaper om såväl svensk som norrbottnisk kultur.

Jag får en slags motsvarande information om vad som händer ute i världen. Jag får information om hur tänkandet är bland unga människor just nu. När människor möts och arbetar tillsammans så uppstår vänskapsband som i sig är ett av de mest fredskapande projekten på hela vårt klot. När man kommer hit som volontär gör man det man det i nära form av familjemedlem.

Min erfarenhet är att det är bra om en volontär stannar cirka två veckor eller mer. Beroende på årstid så går det naturligtvis med kortare tid också. Bra är också om man är minst två volontärer samtidigt. De som kommer hit vet ibland ingenting om jordbruk. De flesta vet väldigt lite om ekologiskt jordbruk. Många har väldigt lite praktiska kunskaper. Även om viljan är väldigt stor så hinner man inte lära sig så mycket på kort tid. Bara att sätta sig in i de rutiner som vi har här tar tid att lära sig. Många gånger går det snabbare att jag själv utför det som skall göras och då blir det som jag vill ha det. Men andra kan ha ett annat betraktelsesätt på vad som ska utföras, vilket kan både vara värdefullt och intressant.

Beroende på årstid och kunskapsförutsättningar hos volontären kan det ibland vara ganska svårt att hitta arbetsuppgifter som direkt hör till det ekologiska brukandet. Då får man vidga området var man kan göra saker. Det är också svårt att börja på projekt som tar en längre om man behöver hjälp med ett sådant. Volontären försvinner och då står jag med mängder med påbörjat arbete som jag inte förmår att fullfölja.

Ett stort problem som jag delar med andra jordbruk som deltager i denna utbytesprocess är att volontärerna snabbt kan ändra sina planer. Självklart skall man kunna ändra sina planer men det har hänt alltför ofta att jag fått ett e-brev någon vecka innan volontären skall dyka upp med besked om att planerna har ändrats och att man nu åker till ett jordbruk i Spanien istället. Först när volontären fysiskt är här så börjar jag min aktiva planering.

The groundprinciple is simple. Changing food and accomodation to help with the things which shall be done at the moment. Farms and countries in the world are very different. For me and other small ecological farms the help has nothing to do vith getting cheap workers. It is something totally different. I will give away my knowledge I have about farming, ecological farming, animals and vegetables and how it is possible to do ecological farming. I will give away the common knowledge I have about everything and will show other people Swedish culture and the culture from the region Norrbotten.

 The change will give me information what is going on out in the world. I get information how young pepople of today are thinking of everything. When people meet each other friendly connections and networks will rise. I think this is one of the most biggest peaceprojects in the world. When you come here you will do it nearly like a familymember.

My experience is that it will work good if a volunteerr stays here aboyt two weeks or more. Of course, one can stay shorter time also. It depends what time of the year. It is good if there will be two volunteers at the same time. The people who come here do not know so much about farming. The most of them do know very little about ecological farming. Many has not so much practical experinces. Even if the will to do different kind of work is very big the time is short to learn so much.  Just to learn the rutins we have here will take time for both me and them. Sometimes it goes much faster for me to do the job myself and it will be in the way I want to have it. But other people can have another way of eyes to see what and how things shall be done. That can be both usefull and valuable.

The time of the year and the knowledge the volunteer has can make it very difficult to find projects which is directly connected to ecological farming. Therefor one can do other things instead, which also has to be done on this little farm. It is also nearly impossible to start big project which take longer time because when the volunteer leave I will be standing with my hands full of work which I has no time to go on with.

One big proble i share with other farmer who also are in this change-process is that voluteers easly and fast change their plans. Of course there must be possibillities to change plans, but to often it had happen than just a week befor the volunteer-arrival I got an e-mail that tells me tha plans are changed. The volunteer will go to a farm in Spain instead or something like that. Therfore, I do not do any planning before the volunteer is fysically here.
